MLB announces 2011 postseason schedule

There was a reason why Major League Baseball started the regular season early on March 31. Bud Selig wanted the World Series to end in October.

On Wednesday, MLB released it's schedule for the 2011 postseason and the first series will begin September 30. Game 1 of the World Series begins on October 19.

The American League Division Series both begin on September 30, and both National League division series begin the next day on October 1. All Division Series games will be broadcast on TBS, and its sister networks when necessary. The American League Championship series will begin on October 8 and will be televised on FOX. The National League Championship Series will begin October 9, and will be televised on TBS.

Because the National League won the All-Star Game, the World Series will kick off in the home city of the NLCS Champions.

Here's a schedule of where each World Series Game will take place:
Game 1 and 2: NL Champion Home City
Game 3, 4, and 5: AL Champion Home City
Game 6 and 7: Back to NL Champion Home City
October 21 and 25 will be the off-days.

The World Series TV broadcast will be on FOX and the radio broadcast will be on ESPN Radio.

I am sure all us baseball fans will be looking forward to the postseason. Trying not to show favoritism, but go Brewers!

  1. Nice, simple and informative. A good follow-up entry next would be about the proposal for an additional wildcard team, plus putting your take on it.
